Father Rich was born and raised in Berks County in the borough of Bally.  He attended Most Blessed Sacrament Elementary School and Reading Central Catholic High School.  Upon graduation he was accepted at Alvernia College and graduated from there with degrees in Theology/Philosophy and Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology.  Before entering the seminary, he taught fifth grade at Saint Francis of Assisi Parish School in Allentown.  When he was accepted by the Diocese of Allentown as a seminarian, he entered Mary Immaculate Seminary in Northampton until it closed.  Father Rich finished his studies at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia. 

Father Rich has served several parishes over his 32 years of priesthood, namely Notre Dame, Bethlehem, Sacred Heart, West Reading, Saint Patrick, Pottsville, Annunciation BVM, Shenandoah, Saint Mary, Ringtown, Saint George, Shenandoah, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Shenandoah,  Saint Mary Magdalen, Lost Creek, Saint Ann, Emmaus, All Saints, McAdoo, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Bethlehem, Saint Joseph, Sheppton, Our Lady Help of Christians Allentown, Saint Francis of Assisi, Allentown,   This is the fourth time Father Rich is with us at Saint Ignatius.  Father has also taught High school at Saint Pius X, Bangor and Marian Catholic, Tamaqua.  He was also the Catholic Chaplain for Kutztown University and Albright College,

Father Rich’s has also been assigned the following:  Regional Director for CYO in Berks County, member of the Vocation Recruitment Committee, board member of Lifeline of Berks County, Chaplain for the Catholic Nurses of Schuylkill County, Director of Courage and EnCourage for the diocese, Director and Chaplain for the Catholic Men of Good News, Director for Catholic Campus Ministry in the diocese and currently serves on the Board for Catholic Charities in the diocese.

Father Rich enjoys spending his free time hanging out with his Miniature Schnauzer, PJ, reading and cooking.
